June, July....wow! August is here already?!?! That means heading back to school and lots of learning and another challenging year to prepare our students for life after high school. If you don't already know me, you'll find that I often deliver my messages maybe less eloquently than others, but most people can relate to me. If I can offer one piece of advice to parents (and being a parent myself, I feel qualified to do this), BE INVOLVED in your child's schooling. I fully understand that for some people there comes a point where the "help" that you may be able to offer on homework, might not actually qualify as help anymore. That doesn't matter. If you are simply interested and keep up to date on your child's grades by keeping in touch with their teachers, and at least checking to see if homework is DONE, as a teacher...I promise that will make a world of difference. I'm looking forward to this year and hopefully it will turn out to be a smooth year because I don't know too many people who like bumps in the road. Look for more updates coming real soon.
